Auckland prepares for world's first Xbox One launch…
Thu, 21st Nov 2013
FYI, this story is more than a year old

In a matter of hours the sharks guarding the glass box containing the Xbox One can take a well-earned break.

As tonight is the night the planet will be finally introduced to Microsoft’s new console, set for launch at Auckland’s iconic Shed 10.

To celebrate the world's first launch, Xbox has invited hundreds of Kiwis who have pre-ordered ‘Day One’ release packages to a special release party, to see the highlights of the new Xbox One console which is Microsoft's first for eight years.

They will also be treated to entertainment from DJ Nick D, and one-off performances from Jon Toogood (Shihad) and Aaron Tokona (AHoriBuzz).

Back to business however and one lucky gamer will be chosen to receive the first Xbox One console in New Zealand. And if this wasn’t enough, the Auckland Sky Tower will be lit up green for the duration of the evening of the 21st November.

Are you one of the gamers invited to the launch party tonight? Tell us what you are looking forward to the most in the comments below
