FYI, this story is more than a year old

Fujitsu has scooped up VMware's global Strategic Alliance Partner of the Year award and the Service Provider of the Year award for the Asia Pacific region.

Mike Bullock, Fujitsu New Zealand general manager of sales, says the wins are ‘great recognition' of Fujitsu's strategic relationships with the world's technology leaders.

Bullock says Fujitsu [Australia] won the Asia Pacific award for its outstanding performance and achievements in distribution, education, marketing, focus on mobility, use of NSX and technical ability, along with other achievements.

Bullock says in all, Fujitsu was acknowledged in 15 categories for their excellence.

Fujitsu Japan was named the APJ geo winner for the Strategic Alliance Partner of the Year, while Fujitsu Technology Solutions took out the same category for EMEA.

Fujitsu has been jointly developing solutions with VMware for more than a decade, with VMware's software defined data center providing the foundation for Fujitsu to deliver its business-centric data center solutions to customers.

Fujitsu's success was acknowledged at VMware's inaugural Partner Leadership Summit, earlier this month.

Ross Brown, VMware senior vice president, worldwide partners and alliances, says the performance and dedication VMware's partners consistently bring forward is valued.

“Together, we provide robust software-defined technologies to a diverse set of companies worldwide,” Brown says.

Partners from around the world were honoured across 20 categories, recognising ‘excellent performance and notable achievements in 2015'.

Ingram Micro was named VMware global Distribution Partner of the Year.
