Kordia partners with Vadacom for NZ's medium enterprises
Fri, 17th Jul 2015
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Kordia is stepping up its offerings for the ME (medium enterprise) market through a partnership with Vadacom - the Kiwi cloud-based PBX company. Kordia was attracted to Vadacom because its software-based phone system is proven to provide mid-size businesses with real savings, performance improvements and convenience - without any capex.

More than 500 businesses across New Zealand and Australia already use the Vadacom system and customers love the fact they can fund their system entirely from opex.

The next logical step was to eliminate the capex requirement from lines too - which aligned perfectly with Kordia's strategy of broadening their portfolio for MEs.

The two companies have now partnered to offer cloud PBX solutions with lines and calling bundled together - one account, one simple monthly bill.

Focus on flexibility and functionality

MEs are looking for flexibility and scalability right across their business. They are looking to grow, so need solutions that will seamlessly grow with them, while allowing things to be scaled back if unforeseen circumstances arise.

In addition, they want excellent features so they can operate with the same level of efficiency as larger companies - but without the enterprise price tag.

The lines and phone system packages are available with no upfront costs and a simple monthly price per user, all in one monthly bill. All system upgrades are included as part of the service contract - so customers will never need to buy another phone system.

The time is right for Cloud PBX

Director of sales and marketing at Kordia, Drew Gilpin, says Vadacom's SIP and Voice over IP Technology has now come of age for a cloud-based PBX.

He is confident that Kordia has made the right choice in partnering with Vadacom as they are “focused on the ME market and the Vadacom cloud PBX is a feature-rich multi-tenant solution with a market-leading soft client app.

“We knew pretty much what we were looking for - a provider of a cloud-based PBX solution that provided the enterprise features that MEs were missing out on, at a price they could afford. Plus, the technology had to be proven to perform well for New Zealand businesses,” says Gilpin.

“Vadacom's technology really impressed us - and the fact Vadacom is a New Zealand company means we are dealing with the people at the top.  In addition the company is agile enough to continuously evolve to stay ahead.

Aaron Ridgway, Vadacom CEO says, “Funding both the corporate-quality phone system and lines entirely from opex is great news for MEs who want to punch above their weight."

Vadacom has found that NZ MEs have three key objectives for their phone system:

1. to improve their staff's productivity (particularly when away from the office), 2. to enable them to provide great customer service, and 3. to keep costs down.

This focus on the customer has led Vadacom to develop features such as: mobile conference calling, easy to configure call forwarding rules - meaning no more phone tag, and the ability to make calls to mobiles at landline prices.

Vadacom was founded in 2005 and became New Zealand's first SIP Trunks integrator, expanding to become a phone system software development company in 2010. The company provides phone system technology to more than 500 workplaces across NZ and Australia and has recently secured $1M in investment capital.

Kordia has been in operation for more than 60 years and is a highly focused, specialist telecommunications and media business enjoying significant success as NZ's leading provider of business-critical networks.
