Apple will introduce its highly anticipated iPhone 6 to the world on September 9, confirmed with the tagline “wish we could say more.

Following months of speculation surrounding Cupertino's flagship smartphone, tech experts widely believe this to be the biggest launch in Apple's history.

Held close to the Apple heartlands in the Flint Centre, Cupertino, California, expect to see the first official look of the device around 7am NZT (September 10).

As reported frequently by MacGuide during 2014, many believe the company's ninth iPhone model will come in two different screen sizes - 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches.

Powered by the new iOS 8 operating system, unveiled by Apple in June, Gartner analyst Van Baker believes the device will “set the world on fire”, echoing the comments of Apple Senior Vice President Eddy Cue, who recently described the company's product pipeline as “the best he'd seen in his 25 years at Apple.

“As well as they did with the iPhone this quarter, with all the rumours of a new iPhone [this fall], I was impressed with the results,” Baker told Computer World last month.

“That tells me when the next generation comes out, they're going to set the world on fire.

Apple is also expected to launch its first smartwatch at the event, rumoured to be called the iWatch, which will compete directly against wearable rivals Samsung, Google and LG.
