FYI, this story is more than a year old

There’s absolutely no question that the television is the centrepiece of how New Zealanders enjoy movies and TV, and for many it’s a case of the bigger the better.

Samsung has now launched the largest Curved UHD TV in the world, on Kiwi shores.

Measuring 78 inches, the TV comes future-ready with a UHD Evolution Kit as well as apps such as 3NOW, TVNZ OnDemand and Premier League Pass.

“With a recommended retail price of $15,999, the 78” is definitely a TV set that makes a statement and with limited units available, it’s a case of ‘first in, best dressed’,” says Jon Barrell, Director Consumer Electronics, Samsung New Zealand.

“We’ve been pleasantly surprised at the high level of interest shown by consumers and our retail partners, and look forward to Kiwis seeing the world’s largest curved UHD TV on shop floors across the country.

“The immersive effect of our curved screens is proving popular with New Zealanders as is the fact that we’re offering a 4K TV that affords the viewer unbelievable clarity and definition.

“It doesn’t matter whether you are watching rugby or the latest movie release; the Curved UHD will upscale some lower resolution content to near UHD levels, ensuring unparalleled picture quality.”

According to Barrell, Samsung’s 78” HU9000 is for those who demand the best viewing experience in their homes.

“Samsung tries to make products that meet every need and desire – and for some, the largest Curved UHD TV is a must have,” he adds.

The Samsung 78” Curved UHD TV is available at select Harvey Norman, JB HiFi, 100% and Smith City retailers.
