Spark providing free calls to France following Paris attacks
Mon, 16th Nov 2015
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Spark says it will credit customers for the cost of landline and mobile calls and texts to France following Friday's attacks in Paris.

Jason Paris, Spark chief executive for home, mobile and business, says “Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to the people of France, and to French citizens living in New Zealand.

“We know many people will need to stay in close contact with friends and family in France over the next few days and we hope it will help in some small way to not have to worry about their phone bill at the end of the month,” Paris says.

The credit, which will be retrospectively applied to customers' accounts, will apply to direct calls and texts made from New Zealand home phones and mobile phones to France from 9.30am (NZT) on Saturday, 14 November until midnight Thursday, 19 November.

Spark says the credits will appear in either the November or December bills, depending on customers' bill cycle, with customers not needing to do anything to receive them.
