Spark ups music play with Auckland City Limits partnership
Tue, 3rd Nov 2015
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Spark is upping its play in the music space, partnering with event organisers and promoters for Auckland's newest music festival, Auckland City Limits.

Spark's support of the event follows the company's wider move into the music space with strategic partnerships with Spotify, Live Nation and Rhythm and Vines.

However, the telco isn't providing specific details about what it's involvement in the festival, due to be held at Western Springs Stadium on March 19 next year, will be.

Clive Ormerod, Spark general manger of marketing, says the telco will ‘provide engaging and personal experiences for customers at Auckland City Limits'. Those ‘exciting plans' will be revealed in the coming months, he adds.

Ormerod says the event is about music fans coming together.

“Hanging out with mates and family is part of the quintessential Kiwi summer – made even better with music. Festivals like this let us do that together on a big, exciting scale.

“They also provide a national stage for New Zealand's own talent, and attract top international acts.

“Over the past year we've helped tens of thousands of people enjoy priority access and unforgettable moments with their favourite artists. With Auckland City Limits we'll be doing that again – giving customers the opportunity to get closer to the music they love and to discover new artists.

The one day festival, which is aligned with the Austin City Limits festival, is serving up more than 40 local and international acts.

Spark says it will be offering customers exclusive presales to Auckland City Limits through its Spark Thanks program on Thursday 05 November at 9am.
