FYI, this story is more than a year old

Zendesk, the software development company, has expanded its APAC team with two new appointments and promoted a key team member.

Adam Clark will be regional vice president of sales for Australia and New Zealand, and Paul Bichsel will take the role as director of success for the Asia Pacific region.

The provider of the cloud-based customer service system already has a large team in the area, with approximately 60 people in Australia and New Zealand and 140 in the wider APAC region.

In his new role, Clark will be responsible for driving sales and leading Zendesk's sales team in Australia and New Zealand.

Bichsel will be responsible for presales and customer success across APAC, helping customers transform their customer service to customer engagement.

Zendesk says the two appointments come at a time when the company is growing in the ANZ and APAC region, and Clark and Bichsel will be an integral part of the team.

Currently Zendesk is reaching more than 6,700 paid customer accounts for Zendesk and Zopim across the APAC region.

Clark joins Zendesk's ANZ team from his previous role as director of sales, IT and employee services for Zendesk in the US.

He has 15 years of experience in software sales and is familiar with growing and retaining customers, building teams and defining new business models and market strategies.

Prior to joining Zendesk in 2014, Clark held senior sales management, customer success and presales roles at Blazent, Vitria Technology, Sagent Technology, and Oracle.

Bichsel is heading up the APAC Success team from his previous role as Presales Manager at Zendesk.

Prior to joining Zendesk, Bichsel was responsible for program delivery and was a solutions manager at BMC Software.

Along with these two appointments, Amy Foo has been promoted to vice president of finance and operation for Asia Pacific from her previous role as director of finance and operations.

Foo says, “We're very pleased to have both Adam and Paul on board to support our Zendesk customers across the region and our growing team in the Asia Pacific region.

“We're at an exciting point in Zendesk's growth and we know that both Adam and Paul will thrive on the challenge of continued success for the company.
