Check Point has introduced its 2012 range of security appliances, promising the seven devices will offer three times the security performance of their predecessors.

In a webinar unveiling the new suite, Check Point founder, chairman and CEO, Gil Shwed, also introduced a new software module (or ‘blade’) that protects against bot attacks.

"In a world where all industries and organisations face an ever-increasing number of sophisticated threats, there is a need for a stronger security solution to control network access, prevent data loss and protect against web-based threats,” Shwed says.

"With systems that are three times faster, customers can continue to elevate their security, without sacrificing performance.”

The appliance range stretches from the basic 2200 model right up to the 21400, announced in August.
