The Ultimate Guide to Wireless Networks
2024 edition
Overview

Wireless networks connect computers without the requirement for and limitations of cabling. Generally using radio communication technologies, wireless networks start with so-called Personal Area Networks using Bluetooth or other standards like ANT+, range through to WiFi networks connecting the Internet with home Local Area Networks, to larger Point to Point networks connecting remote offices or locations over sometimes fairly substantial distances. More recently, wireless sensor networks like SIGFOX and LoraWAN have emerged, accelerating deployments of Internet of Things devices.
