FYI, this story is more than a year old

Business leaders and decision-makers converged on the last leg of Intergen's conferences last Friday to discuss digital transformation and how it can be achieved through ideas, actions, people, and technology.

The event was held at the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre, and saw speakers from Microsoft, JUCY, and AUT.

One of the highlights of the event was a keynote by Simon van Velthooven, cyclor on Emirates Team NZ.

He shared the story of how the team got back on their feet, innovated, and toiled their way to winning the America's Cup for the team earlier this year to an enthralled audience.

Microsoft New Zealand CMO Frazer Scott shared some of his concerns about the state of digital transformation in New Zealand, with the lack of product development and lack of faith in leadership being the two main concerns he had.

Scott says New Zealand research shows that only 8% of companies are prioritising the transformation of products and/ or enabling new business models.

"That's the territory of hotel chains or the railways of yesteryear…that's where new technology-driven business models can disrupt and make you irrelevant in short order."

The event also held an informative panel on real-world applications of digital transformation in action, with panellists from Public Trust, Qual IT, JUCY, AUT, and Microsoft.
