FYI, this story is more than a year old

Former Interactive Intelligence executive Brendan Maree has taken on the role of Asia Pacific vice president for unified communications provider 8x8.

A familiar channel face, Maree is charged with growing 8x8's market share and revenue across the region and accelerating growth for the vendor.

Scott Sampson, 8x8 worldwide vice president of sales, says “Brendan has tremendous experience in building world-class sales teams in Asia Pacific.

“He will build on our deep installed base there and accelerate our growth in in the region.

“Our global customers want consistent call quality as well as sales, service and support worldwide, so bringing on a leader like Brendan is a huge advance for us.

Maree spent more than 11 years with Interactive Intelligence rising up through the ranks with roles including territory manager, country manager, managing director for Australia and New Zealand to ultimately become the company's senior vice president.

He left the role in April.

Prior to his time with Interactive Intelligence, Maree spent nearly two years as channel sales manager for IPL Communications, distributors of Avaya and Alcatel telecommunications equipment.

“I am very excited to bring my valuable industry and company experience to this new position and to play an integral role in further growing the 8x8 business as companies increasingly look to deploy 8x8 around the region,” Maree says.

“The company has experienced tremendous growth this year tin the mid-market and enterprise segments of the unified communications-as-a-service and contact centre-as-a-service markets and I look forward to bolstering this momentum moving forward.
