CIO summit will face digital challenges head on

25 May 16

A major CIO summit will bring together global and New Zealand IT professionals. The summit will discuss some of digital technology's major issues including digital disruption, digital transformation and other ways to adopt digital trends.

IDC senior vice president of Enterprise Systems will be examining how ICT has handled 20 years of digital disruption and how the role of the chief information officer will change in 2025.

The summit will also bring together speakers including Palo Alto, IDC, Dropbox and the San Francisco Giants Baseball Team. The speakers will describe their experiences, as well as predicted trends for technology and the industry that will emerge in the next 10 years.

Reg Prasad, head of consulting for Qual IT, says “New Zealand organisations are gearing up and getting on board with the digital concept, integrating digital into their core business and adopting underlying trends.

While this is a fundamental shift which ensures our nation is up to play with the rest of the world, a strategic and measured quality approach to implementing digital initiatives needs to be taken, rather than diving in head first.”

Qual IT will also be at the event to discuss quality management and delivery in product lifecycles. Its Digital Readiness Study analysed responses from 46 New Zealand companies about digital technology and what it means to their business.

The survey covers IT leaders' opinions on the definition of digital, key issues facing New Zealand, commitment to digital technology, output quality and digital strategy recommendations.
