FYI, this story is more than a year old

Check Point Software Technologies has appointed two new directors to its local team, naming Nigel Gutschlag as channel sales director and Philip Dimitriu as regional engineering director for Australia and New Zealand.

As channel sales director, Gutschlag will lead Check Point Australia’s sales strategy across all channel partners and distribution.

In a career spanning 18 years in the IT sector, Gutschlag has worked for Check Point for over nine years, the past four spent as part of the company’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) Sales Champions group.

With a deep understanding of Check Point, its channels and distribution, he plans to focus on channel enablement and leverage to drive mutual success for both Check Point and its partners.

“Check Point has always been 100 percent channel focused and I’m very pleased to be working with our partners to lead the future success of our channel,” Gutschlag says.

“Partnerships are a two way street and we need to ensure that both parties are reaping the rewards as part of a long-term relationship.”

Dimitriu joins Check Point to lead the Australia and New Zealand presales organisation in his role as regional engineering director.

With over 18 years’ of experience in the IT industry, particularly systems engineering and solution architecture, Philip joins Check Point from his most recent role as systems engineer manager at Symantec.

Dimitriu has a deep understanding of SIEM, IT compliance, DLP, information protection, endpoint security and mobility, and brings with him a passion for staff development, partner collaboration, and developing the best security solutions for customers.

“IT Security should be seen as a business enabler, rather than a road block or an inhibitor,” says Philip Dimitriu, regional engineering director at Check Point Australia and New Zealand.

“I’m looking forward to working with Check Point’s customers in Australia and New Zealand to develop information security strategies that will allow them to solve complex business problems.”

Kurt Hansen, regional managing director for Check Point in Australia and New Zealand, is pleased to welcome the two senior team members.

“Nigel and Philip are both amongst the best and brightest in their fields,” he says.

“I’m looking forward to working with them to further strengthen Check Point’s position as the market leader in delivering superior security solutions to our customers.”
