DTS has today announced the construction of a new data center to be located within in the CBD Tower building in Upper Hutt.

The ANZ internet service provider says the new facility will provide enterprise grade colocation with dual fibre connectivity and 24/7 access about 40 minutes north of Wellington city CBD.

In an email to DTS customers, company CEO Brendan Ritchie said the facility, with meets all earthquake resistance standards, is scheduled for opening in 2013:

“This will be a boutique facility, designed to provide a premium service at great value for money to those businesses who are looking for a readily accessible site located just outside of the Wellington CBD," he says.

“We have committed to having this facility on line as early as possible in 2013."

The new DTS data center will provide carrier diverse dual ‘fibre to the floor’ fibre access, generator and UPS backup power.

DTS says it can link data center connections to sites virtually anywhere across the ANZ region as part of their branded Chapter Managed WAN service.

“A huge, sustained growth in hosted services and a shortage of high-end colocation space in the area have been the drivers for us to move forward with the project,” says DTS Sales Manager Daniel Bohan.

“We’ve essentially been put in the position of building in direct response to customer interest.”

DTS also recently unveied Dataview, a best of breed traffic monitoring tool and the launch of free data rollover on all standard business plans, which is believed to be a New Zealand first.
