FYI, this story is more than a year old

Intergen has taken out Cyber Gold and Supreme awards in the Wellington Gold Awards, with the IT services company recognised for its contribution to the local business sector.

The Wellington Gold Awards celebrate excellence and enterprise in Wellington's businesses, showcasing business talent and capability.

Intergen won both the Cyber Gold category, which celebrates technology businesses, and the 2016 Supreme Award, which was presented by Prime Minister John Key at the gala evening in Wellington, attended by more than 1000 people.

Simon Bright, Intergen chief executive, says the awards are recognition of the vision Intergen's founding directors had in building ‘a truly people-focused technology services business' and for the work the company's does with clients every day.

“We've been in and committed to the Wellington region for 15 years and in that time have spawned a number of very successful businesses and fostered a number of hugely talented individuals who have gone on to remarkable success,” Bright says.

“We're very proud to have played this role and we look forward to our next exciting chapter as we move into our new offices at Press Hall later this year.

The company, which was acquired by Australia's Empired two years ago, opened an Auckland office early this year.

The latest wins follow a string of successes for the Kiwi-founded company, which is one of the largest dedicated providers of Microsoft-based solutions in New Zealand and a Tier 1 Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider. The company is also a strong player in the Microsoft Partner Awards, taking home awards in eight of the past nine years, including four Partner of the Year wins.

Earlier this year Intergen scored invitations to the exclusive, invitation only Microsoft Azure IoT Red Carpet partner program and the Microsoft Power BI Red Carpet program.
