Mobility growth drives new Tait Communications partnership
Thu, 27th Feb 2014
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Tait Communications has joined forces with enterprise mobility firm Mobile Mentor, designed to capitalise on the growing demand from its clients to embrace mobility.

The companies have formed a strategic partnership combining Tait’s support of communications of agencies such as fire, police and ambulance with Mobility Mentor’s experience in mobile strategy, mobile innovation and support services.

Mobile Mentor’s services provide “rapid development and deployment of mission critical applications with the appropriate layers of security for the data, apps and devices.”

James Kyd, Tait’s Chief Marketing Officer, says the partnership with Mobile Mentor complements Tait’s existing critical communications solutions, enabling the business to expand its managed services offering to include enterprise mobility solutions.

“Mobile technology is growing in importance for our clients’ operations as they seek to become more efficient and proactive in the field,” he says.

“Through the expertise Mobile Mentor provides, we’re able to offer our clients comprehensive mobility solutions including mobile security and app development for enhanced productivity.

“Our partnership with Mobile Mentor forms part of a wider strategy to grow our expertise in software and services - including management of field devices - through global partnerships and in-house capabilities, as we anticipate future trends in the public safety and critical infrastructure markets.”

Mobile Mentor CEO Denis O’Shea says Mobile Mentor works closely with its clients to shape strategy to maximise the return on their mobility investments and improve staff effectiveness in the field.

“We have seen a real interest among public safety agencies to include smart devices into their communications toolset in the field,” he adds.

“Working with Tait Communications helps us to have the right conversations with the right people in those organisations and get some very innovative solutions working out there.”

According to Kyd, smart devices have the potential to significantly improve efficiency and effectiveness of a field force but many organisations lack the strategy and governance framework to ensure a return on their investment in mobility.

As a result, Mobile Mentor and Tait intend to guide customers through the strategy development process then put the critical building blocks in place to enable large-scale deployment of mobile solutions throughout the organisation.

Kyd says that with the global reach of Tait and with Mobile Mentor’s expertise and experience, the potential of this partnership is significant.

“We are confident the benefits realised through enterprise mobility will lead to positive outcomes for our clients,” he adds.

“We’re proud to be in partnership with Mobile Mentor as we help clients realise the full potential of their communication solutions.”
