FYI, this story is more than a year old

Ingram Micro has announced two key appointments within its New Zealand business.

This follows the combination of the Commercial - Consumer business units, which previously had a General Manager each.

Leon De Suza has been appointed to head the combined business with the title of Director, Commercial - Consumer.

De Suza started with the distributor in 2006 as an Assistant Product Manager before progressing to Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, Business Manager and then General Manager for the Apple and Consumer Accessories business unit.

“Today it gives me great pleasure to confirm Leon's promotion and permanent appointment,” says Jason Langley, Ingram Micro New Zealand, Managing Director.

“He has proven himself to be an exceptional strategist, relationship builder and leader.

At the same time, Blair Wilson has been promoted to the position of General Manager, Retail - Consumer, reporting directly to De Suza.

“Blair will continue to have ultimate responsibility for leading the retail business, while also taking on the new challenge of leading the consumer vendor brands, with the exception of Apple and Logitech.

Having joined Ingram Micro in 2005, as South Island OEM Manager, Blair progressed to South Island Commercial Account Manager, Retail Account Manager, Apple BDM and then most recently Retail Sales Manager.

Langley points out that both De Suza - Wilson have advanced their career inside Ingram Micro every few years.

“Providing such opportunities is an important part of the value Ingram Micro provides for new recruitment candidates and longer-tenured staff alike, as we strive to support each person's personal and professional development while helping them achieve their career objectives.

Ingram is working through other potentially promotions in the Commercial - Consumer business unit as a result of De Suza - Wilson moving up.

Ingram has a number of jobs that it is currently recruiting for including Adobe Product Manager and separately an integrations specialist in the Ingram Micro Cloud team.
