"OK whoever said iOS 7 is waterproof GO **** YOURSELF"

For all you iPhone and iPad owners out there, no, iOS 7 doesn't make your devices waterproof.

Yet many Apple users have been duped into believing the fake advert, which has now destroyed many new products for consumers across the world.

Circulating on social media sites, the fake advert, if you can call it that, claims that updates devices with iOS 7 installs a "smart switch" which essentially cuts off the phone's power supply when water is detected.

This of course, is utter rubbish.

Initially reported by Sky News, the news source claims as a result of the advert many users submerged their devices into water - only to find their gadgets completely useless.

Believed to have started on forum 4Chan, many users took to Twitter to vent their fury, with one tweeting:

"OK whoever said iOS 7 is waterproof GO **** YOURSELF"

Apple has yet to comment on the report.

Where you duped by the fake advert?
