Aruba Airheads flocked to Macau last week for the vendor's annual APAC Atmosphere conference, where attendees got hands on with Aruba's vision for smart spaces.

More than 1,300 mobility experts attended this year's event, themed The Innovation Edge: The Power of Mobile, Cloud and IoT.

The event featured industry-specific experience zones, allowing attendees to interact with the technologies and innovations Aruba says are shaping the future economy.

The Intelligent Hotel zone featured intelligent environment automation and IoT to craft highly personalised guest experiences, while secure, mobile first infrastructure for the digital transformation of healthcare – and enhnaced patient care – was highlighted in the Smart Hospital zone.

Other zones included the Store of the Future, creating a new shopping experience with mobile shopping and enhanced engagement via retail and location analytics; the Smart School zone with fault tolerant infrastructure for multimedia, high density environments, and the Smart City zone, using video analytics, IoT and predictive maintenance to create a smart, safe city.

Attendees also heard from a range of speakers – including New Zealand's Sam Tuneau, group manager of technology for Auckland Transport.
