Fri, 20th Mar 2015
FYI, this story is more than a year old

The PlayStation 4 console is the best selling next-gen system in New Zealand for the year of 2014. The PlayStation 4 was the best selling console overall in New Zealand. Not only that, but the system is also the fastest selling system home console of the decade in New Zealand as well.  Home console retail sales in general grew by 24%. The PlayStation 4 was the next-gen console of choice with 65% of the market value share over the Xbox One and Wii U.  “The PlayStation brand is exciting, innovative and entertaining and it's been a busy year!  We are excited and overwhelmed by the response of Kiwi gamers to the introduction of PlayStation 4,” said Michael Ephraim, Managing Director, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia and New Zealand. “This year, we plan to push the boundaries of play further: with more immersive gaming experiences; new digital entertainment services coming to New Zealand and truly ground breaking technologies in development with Project Morpheus.” 2015 promises to be an even bigger year for the PlayStation 4. This is proof that New Zealand is a "PlayStation Nation".  *All stats were collated by The NPD Group Australia.
