Report shows app dev causing crisis for digital transformation
Mon, 23rd Oct 2017
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Digital transformation is the single most critical facing organisations today.

The turn of phrase itself has both positive and negative connotations – positive because of the almost infinite benefits and opportunities it brings, but negative because of the significant challenges it poses for organisations.

Accenture's CEO Pierre Nanterme recently suggested that it's the main reason why more than half of the companies on the Fortune 500 have disappeared since 2000.

At the heart of the challenge lies app development, with demand skyrocketing and creating a crisis within most organisations.

In fact, Gartner predicts that market demand for app development will grow at least five times faster than IT's capacity to deliver it through 2021 and that one out of every three new B2E mobile apps will fail within six months of launch by 2019.

To better understand these challenges and the overall state of app development, OutSystems conducted research that took the company around the globe to connect with more than 3,200 industry professionals.

The research provides incredible insights that detail the current challenges facing IT managers, architects and developers and what they're doing to overcome them.
