Vodafone hit by Auckland fault
Wed, 8th Aug 2012
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Vodafone has issued an apology after suffering a major fault in Auckland during the early hours of this morning, which was first believed to be a national problem.

Disrupting mobile and fixed-line services, the fault on one of Vodafone’s South Auckland exchanges affected over 20 areas in the city.

The telecommunications company, with over 2.4million users in the country, reassured customers the fault was not nationwide as first feared, with most problems resolved by 7am.

Customers did continue to experience intermittent issues which affected fixed-line calling but spokeswoman for the company confirmed all services were resumed by 9:30am.
