Business security solution vendor WatchGuard Technologies has announced the appointment of Patrick Devlin as ANZ Country Manager.

Based in Sydney, Devlin will be responsible for managing the company’s market presence in Australia and New Zealand, overseeing new revenue opportunities, and managing local customer relationships.

Providing business security solutions and mission-critical protection to businesses worldwide, WatchGuard will look to draw on Devlin’s 15 years of IT industry experience in both direct sales and channel development.

Before leaving his role as Australia Regional Sales Manager at Brocade, Devlin worked for organisations including Brocade, Cisco, Hitachi Data Systems, Hewlett Packard, Dell and Memorex Telex.

He replaces Scott Robertson who earlier this year was promoted to Vice President, Asia Pacific Sales, based in Singapore.

"Pat’s exemplary skills in driving success for multi-national sales organisations and their channel partners combined with his capable delivery of customer focused solutions will be a major benefit to WatchGuard’s ongoing business pipeline and market development,” Robertson said.

"His experience will be a real asset as we embark on the next stage of our development.”

Upon accepting the role, Devlin said: "The company's game-changing security technology makes this a unique opportunity to expand the business as the network security market continues to experience strong growth.

"My experience is particularly well suited to the opportunities that WatchGuard has in Australia and New Zealand and I’m very excited to be joining at such a critical time.”
