Wireless Nation to promote wellbeing for rural Kiwis

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Wireless Nation has entered into an agreement with Farmstrong, in an initiative to promote wellbeing for New Zealand farmers and growers.

The internet provider says the initiative further demonstrates its commitment to the rural sector in New Zealand.

Wireless Nation's zero-rated data agreement means that its Satellite Broadband customers can access Farmstrong's website without the data counting towards their data cap.

Tom Linn, Wireless Nation technical director, says he is passionate about making internet connectivity easier for people living in rural areas.

“We understand that satellite data is precious. We also understand that rural communities' access to internet connectivity can have a real impact on mental health and wellbeing,” says Linn.

Glenn Croasdale from Farmstrong welcomes the deal. “We believe good reliable and affordable connectivity is critical for the health and wellbeing of rural communities – especially in regard to minimising the sense of isolation for our rural families,” he says.

“Thanks to Wireless Nation, we can watch videos and spend as long as you want on the Farmstrong site, learning how to live well and stay well,” says Croasdale.

Wireless Nation is a strategic partner of Rural Health Alliance Aotearoa New Zealand (RHAANZ). The wholly owned New Zealand company has zero-rated data partnerships with ASB, PGG Wrightson, FMG and MYOB.

It also zero-rates VoIP phone calls on its Satellite network.
