Nasuni appoints Michael Sotnick to expand global partnerships
Wed, 27th Mar 2024

Hybrid cloud storage provider, Nasuni, has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of Michael Sotnick as Senior Vice President of Business and Corporate Development. Sotnick will assume responsibility for Nasuni’s global partnerships, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud. His role will also include the task of driving new strategic technology partnerships. Sotnick brings with him more than 30 years of experience in senior-level partnership, across data infrastructure, security, management, and cloud.

Prior to joining Nasuni, Sotnick served as Vice President of Alliances and Business Development at Pure Storage for 8 years. During his tenure there, he was instrumental in helping to develop the company's growth from $400 million to $3 billion. His extensive professional history also includes leadership positions at VERITAS, SAP, Quest Software (acquired by Dell) and Moovweb (acquired by Edgio).

Speaking about Sotnick's appointment, Nasuni's President, David Grant commented, "Partners are core to Nasuni’s success. Michael’s long tenure at Pure Storage disrupting the legacy storage industry is very similar to our approach of disrupting legacy NAS with a cloud-based approach. He brings great experience, stemming from more than three decades in growth stage and large public companies, including a track record of building partnerships at scale. With the addition of Michael to our leadership team, we are well positioned for our next major milestones."

The appointment of Sotnick follows a successful year for Nasuni, with a 46% increase in new customer bookings and a 30% increase in its annual recurring revenue year over year. The company has also recently launched Nasuni Edge for Amazon S3, a move aimed at delivering high performance at the edge. Nasuni's partnership with energy solutions provider, Cegal, resulted in a significant 235% growth for the company in the energy sector year over year.

Sotnick commented on his new role, "I am thrilled to be joining Nasuni’s leadership team at this stage of the company’s growth. Nasuni is solving critical data challenges for its customers and is architecturally poised for deeper partner integration. With the backdrop of great partnerships and integrations in place already, I look forward to enhancing the value we can bring to our shared customers."

As Nasuni continues on its growth trajectory, the company anticipates that strategic appointments such as Sotnick's will help to further drive its strong momentum. Nasuni's leadership team also recently saw the promotions of Russ Kennedy to Chief Evangelist and Nick Burling to Senior Vice President of Product.
