The Telecommunications Carriers’ Forum (TCF) has said that 2degrees has rejoined the organisation after it walked out in early 2009.
The mobile network quit last year claiming the organisation was “an unnecessary distraction” and that it was largely controlled by Telecom, Vodafone and TelstraClear.
All the major telecommunications companies are now members.
TCF Chief Executive Officer, David Stone, said, “We’re delighted to have them back on board, and we take it as a vote of confidence in the effectiveness of the TCF as an industry body. By working together, our members are making a real difference to New Zealand’s telecommunications industry.”
The TCF was formed in 2002 with the aim of working collaboratively to develop industry standards and the codes of practice that underpin the digital economy.
TCF now has 13 members: Telecom, Vodafone, TelstraClear, CallPlus, Compass Communications, Woosh, WorldxChange Communications, Kordia, FX Networks, Vector Communications, Bay City Communications and Trust Power.
