2degrees launches 3G network
Tue, 3rd Aug 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Chief Executive Eric Hertz took to a stage in Auckland this morning to launch the company’s 3G network.

The new network is aimed at making mobile broadband appeal to as many customers as possible. “Mobile broadband isn’t new but being able to afford it is,” he said.

Data is available in 50MB, 512MB, 2GB and 10GB packs, which last from 30 to 90 days depending on the plan purchased.

Hertz said 2degrees was the first telco to offer data bundles that lasted longer than a 30-day period.

“2degrees is all about leading value and doing things differently for our customers. Today we are offering New Zealanders in our broadband zones more date, for less, with more time to use it, all without having to sign up to a long term contract,” he continued.

Broadband zones are Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown. If you travel outside of the zones you can stay connected using National Data Packs or choose to pay company rates.
