2degrees to continue Hertz's vision

FYI, this story is more than a year old

2degrees has vowed to continue driving the company forward following the death of CEO Eric Hertz.

Speaking at a scheduled press conference in Auckland over the weekend, director of corporate affairs Mat Bolland stressed that while the company mourns Hertz's loss, plans are being put in place to drive the business forward as planned.

With board members flying to New Zealand, Bolland said the priority is to execute a definite business continuity plan to keep the company progressing.

"Absolutely, Eric would have wanted that," Bolland told the press.

"(I) cannot talk about what it involves and who it involves, but businesses need to prepare for these horrible events and we have.

"We have got a lot of loss to deal with but the excitement and journey of 2degrees has been something that a lot of people share, as well as Eric."

Hertz, whose body is still missing along with his wife's Kathy, is believed to have perished after his plane crashed off the coast of Kawhia Harbour on Friday.

Bolland told the media that during a senior management meeting on Thursday, Hertz spoke of his plans for the weekend.

"We had the management team in the office and we were talking about the weekend," Bolland said.

"Eric had a more exciting weekend planned that the rest of us."
