Accenture & Google Cloud boost AI & cloud solutions

Thu, 10th Apr 2025

Accenture has announced an expansion of its strategic relationship with Google Cloud to assist organisations in adopting the latest cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

The new capabilities, focused on areas such as agentic AI, networking, and mainframe modernisation, aim to help global organisations enhance their enterprise efficiency and drive growth. "Accenture is continuing to strengthen its strategic partnership with Google Cloud, continuously investing in new capabilities to help our clients accelerate reinvention and spur innovation," said Andy Tay, Global Lead of Accenture Cloud First. "Powered by Accenture's deep industry and functional expertise and Google's advanced technology, we are helping clients build an agile cloud-based digital core, integrating advanced data and AI technologies."

The launch includes expanded offerings in agent solutions, utilising Google Agentspace and Gemini's reasoning models, made available through the Accenture Google Gen AI Centre of Excellence. The solutions also support Google Cloud's Agent2Agent (A2A) interoperability protocol to enhance agent usability. For example, in the consumer goods sector, Accenture collaborates with Mondelēz International to create personalised content rapidly. Meanwhile, in the insurance industry, Accenture is collaborating with CNA Insurance to transform data and AI use for functions including underwriting and claims management.

Customer experience modernisation is another area being addressed. Accenture, using the Google Customer Engagement Suite and its GenWizard platform, plans to accelerate the transition to Contact-Center-as-a-Service. It will also facilitate the development of AI agents based on call transcripts and offer omni-channel analytics capabilities, thus enhancing customer interactions across industries.

In leveraging the Google Distributed Cloud (GDC), Accenture has developed industry-specific solutions to maximise value from GDC investments. These solutions are designed to manage workloads at the edge or in highly secure on-premise environments, suitable for various sectors such as public services, manufacturing, and utilities. For instance, government solutions include AI-powered analysis in secure environments, while utilities can benefit from predictive maintenance and data analysis capabilities.

Further integrating Google Cloud's Cloud WAN service, Accenture aims to enhance enterprise connectivity through its Cloud Network Operator platform. This integration is intended to simplify operations and improve security, compliance, and governance, offering a streamlined global network management solution.

Mainframe modernisation efforts are also being advanced using new Gemini-powered tools within the GenWizard platform. Accenture intends this to assist organisations, including those in banking, health, and retail, in modernising critical applications and data, enhancing agility, and reducing operational costs.

Accenture's own use of Google capabilities highlights their commitment as the company explores Google's new third-party grounding offerings. Collaborating with Kensho, Accenture's research team enhances model capabilities by accessing third-party data from S&P Global, with contributions also supporting Google's product development.

Kevin Ichhpurani, President, Global Partner Organization, Google Cloud, expressed satisfaction in recognising Accenture's contributions: "We're proud to name Accenture as our partner of the year for both Global Services and Artificial Intelligence Global Innovation and Solutions. Accenture's expertise has been instrumental in helping clients quickly move AI projects from proofs-of-concept to global production, underscoring its commitment to innovation and customer success."

The announcement builds on prior initiatives, including the integration of Google Cloud's Gemini models with Salesforce's Agentforce and promoting cloud and AI adoption in Saudi Arabia.
