A new AI engineering bootcamp is set to launch on 10 March 2025, offering a five-week intensive programme designed to help participants develop real-world AI skills. Organised by industry professionals, the course will provide hands-on training in building production-grade AI systems using Python or TypeScript.
The programme is structured around applied learning, focusing on building AI systems from scratch rather than theoretical knowledge. "We believe students will only retain information through building and breaking things as they go," the organisers stated. "What's the point of knowing hundreds of AI programming techniques if you can't even implement one?"
The training is open to software engineers, data professionals, product managers, startup founders, and agency owners who want to enhance their AI capabilities. Participants will receive structured guidance, early project wins to boost confidence, and opportunities to collaborate with peers.
The course includes 12 live sessions, weekly Q&A discussions, daily support, and a capstone project. Attendees will also gain lifetime access to the course materials and a certificate of completion.
Practical learning approach
The curriculum is divided into five key modules:
-
Week 1: The setup – Participants choose a project aligned with their industry, select a coding language, and set up their development environment.
-
Week 2: Retrieval and workflows – The course covers techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and LLM-powered workflows.
-
Week 3: Tool use and structured outputs – Learners will explore data transformation using LLMs, tool calling, and web scraping.
-
Week 4: Building AI agents – Participants will develop agentic AI systems using frameworks like LangGraph.
-
Week 5: Tracing, evaluations, and testing – The final stage involves refining projects, implementing evaluation metrics, and presenting capstone projects.
Instructors emphasise that AI engineering sits at the intersection of three fundamental skills: working with foundation models and their APIs, designing robust and scalable AI systems, and building user-friendly AI products.
"LLMs and their APIs are the core of modern AI applications," the organisers explained. "AI engineers must understand how to select the best models for each use case."
Industry experts and guest speakers
The bootcamp is led by Meri Nova, founder of Break Into Data, and Hai Nghiem, a Langchain Ambassador and full-stack engineer at Colab. Nova has hosted technical workshops for thousands of professionals and is known for her work in AI education. Nghiem, who has built AI developer communities, has contributed to open-source projects and advises AI startups.
In addition to the core instructors, guest speakers from leading AI startups and enterprises will share insights. Confirmed speakers include:
-
Yasser Elsaid, founder of Chatbase.co, an AI startup that generated $3 million in its first year.
-
Qingyun Wu, AI researcher and co-creator of Autogen, an open-source multi-agent framework.
-
Oleg Bilozor, founder of Reply.io, an AI-driven sales automation platform.
-
Anita Kirkovska, education lead at Vellum AI and author of 6 Levels of Agentic Behaviour.
-
Freddie Vargus, co-founder and CTO of Quotient AI, a platform for AI development and evaluation.
-
Atai Barkai, CEO and co-founder of CopilotKit, which builds AI-driven virtual colleagues for businesses.
Career impact and enrolment details
The programme is designed to help participants transition into AI-related roles, with potential career outcomes including AI engineer, product engineer, and developer advocate. Salaries for these roles can range from $120,000 to over $250,000 annually, according to the organisers.
Those who enrol before the deadline on 9 March 2025 will receive additional career growth resources, including interview preparation materials, a one-on-one coaching session, and access to live sessions.
