Alcatel-Lucent has made what it calls four “senior” appointments to its New Zealand and Pacific Islands business.

Mike Davies has been named General Manager Mobile. Davies comes from Vodafone New Zealand where he was General Manager of Network and Services for the past six years.

Richard Fraser returns to Alcatel-Lucent New Zealand as Solutions Director across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Steve Christman comes to the firm as Radio Network Manager where he will lead the Radio Frequency team for Alcatel-Lucent’s mobile operations. Christman also comes from Telecom New Zealand.

Nick Brown has also joined as Head of Communications and Brand after doing six years of service with Telecom New Zealand.

Speaking of the new hires, Alcatel-Lucent CEO New Zealand and Pacific, Jyoti Mahurkar-Thombre, said, “We are delighted to have local talent of this calibre joining our senior team. As we undertake key projects for a number of our New Zealand customers we will continue to recruit more specialists over the coming months.”

Alcatel-Lucent says it currently employs more than 800 staff across New Zealand.
