Arctic Wolf named Chubb's preferred MDR cyber partner

Fri, 6th Feb 2026

Arctic Wolf has been selected by Chubb as a preferred managed detection and response (MDR) provider for Chubb cyber insurance policyholders with more than 100 employees.

The arrangement links cyber insurance with managed security operations as insurers tighten expectations around security controls and incident response. Joint customers may qualify for preferred pricing and other promotional benefits from Arctic Wolf, the companies said.

Insurance focus

Chubb is framing the preferred provider status around risk reduction. Chubb and Arctic Wolf pointed to common drivers of large claims, including exploitation of external remote services such as unsecured Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and compromised virtual private network (VPN) credentials.

The companies also cited findings from the Q2 2025 Chubb Cyber Threat Intelligence Report and the 2025 Arctic Wolf Threat Report. Both identified remote access exploitation as a leading root cause of major incidents, including ransomware.

Preferred provider programmes are becoming more common across the cyber insurance market as carriers look for clearer signals of security maturity at application and renewal. Partnerships with managed security providers can also support underwriting discussions by demonstrating monitoring and response processes.

Service model

Arctic Wolf's offering centres on its MDR service, part of the Arctic Wolf Aurora Platform. The company provides continuous monitoring and incident response through security operations centres in North America, EMEA and APAC, and maintains an "insurance alliance" team that works with brokers and carriers.

The Aurora Platform uses an open extended detection and response (XDR) architecture and Arctic Wolf's Alpha AI technology. Arctic Wolf said the platform processes more than nine trillion security events each week and reduces alert volumes by consolidating thousands of daily alerts into an average of one actionable ticket per customer per day.

For customers, the preferred relationship links that monitoring to insurer expectations for practical controls. Arctic Wolf said MDR customers receive ongoing guidance through its Concierge Experience and Security Journey, covering the implementation and maintenance of critical controls that address common attack techniques.

Market context

Cyber insurance buyers are facing greater scrutiny over remote access configuration, identity security and incident response readiness. Ransomware claims and business interruption losses have also pushed insurers to refine questionnaires and require evidence of security measures.

The tie-up reflects insurers' increasing use of third-party services as part of broader risk management. For managed security firms, preferred status can provide a clearer route into the cyber insurance customer base, particularly among mid-sized organisations.

Chubb's cyber offering includes a service called the Chubb Cyber Stack aimed at small businesses. Chubb and Arctic Wolf also pointed to resilience measures as a way to strengthen a firm's "insurability", aligning with insurers' efforts to reduce losses.

"Being selected by Chubb as a preferred MDR provider is powerful validation of the innovation behind the Arctic Wolf Aurora Platform and the results it delivers," said Nick Schneider, president and CEO of Arctic Wolf.

"Our open, AI-driven approach to security operations helps customers measurably reduce risk and improve resilience," Schneider said.

"Chubb shares our commitment to delivering outcomes that can help protect organizations and empower them to operate with confidence, such as with the Chubb Cyber Stack," he said.

"Together, we're helping businesses proactively defend against threats and gain the confidence that comes from having world-class cyber risk management protection paired with world-class insurance," Schneider said.

Arctic Wolf said the preferred status applies to Chubb cyber policyholders with more than 100 employees, and that joint customers may be eligible for preferred pricing and additional promotional benefits tied to its services.
