Aruba unveils cloud-native platform for intelligent edge

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Aruba has announced a new cloud-native platform designed to predict and resolve problems at the network edge before they happen.

Aruba's Edge Services Platform (ESP) analyses data across domains, identifies anomalies, ensures SLAs and more while leveraging zero-trust network security and a unified infrastructure for data center, branch and remote worker locations.

The platform can be consumed either as-a-service in the cloud or on-premises, as a managed service delivered through Aruba partners, or via network as a service through HPE GreenLake.

“The Intelligent Edge is the catalyst that will spark limitless possibilities for organisations and enterprises that want to accelerate transformation and ensure business continuity by leveraging their technology investments as their greatest asset,” says Aruba president Keerti Melkote.

“Built upon Aruba's guiding principles of connect, protect, analyse, and act, Aruba ESP is the culmination of years of innovation, R-D, Aruba ingenuity and, most importantly, input from our valued customers whose honest feedback and insightful perspective has helped to make this platform a network that knows.

Aruba says its new solution helps organisations maintain business continuity through its ability to continually analyse network, user and device insights.

Aruba ESP leverages three core principles: AIOps, unified infrastructure and zero-trust network security. The company says the solution's integrations of these principles secures and unifies the entire infrastructure across the enterprise.

AIOps

Aruba says AIOps is the critical component of Aruba ESP. This is because the tool uses AI to identify root causes, auto-remediate network issues, and use peer benchmarking and prescriptive recommendations to continuously optimise and secure the network.

The company says the utilisation of AIOps has resulted in a 15% increase in throughput capacity as well as a 90% decrease in time spent resolving issues.

Unified infrastructure

This component consolidates all network operations for switching, Wi-Fi and SD-WAN across a variety of environments under Aruba Central, a cloud-native console that correlates cross-domain events to reduce issue resolution time and manual errors.

The company says that this approach provides customers with a choice between having their controller services housed on-premises or in the cloud.

Zero-trust network security

This provides for the authentication, authorisation and control over every user and device connecting to the network. It does this through its identity-based intrusion detection and build-in role-based access technology.

The zero-trust network security component of Aruba ESP also aids in stopping attacks before they impact the business via its detection, prevention and isolation capabilities.
