Author-it unveils brand refresh & AI-focused roadmap

Thu, 22nd Jan 2026

Author-it has rolled out a brand refresh and set out a product roadmap that includes workflow updates, security changes and AI-related development for its component content management system.

The Auckland-based software company said the refresh builds on its history in structured content management. Author-it operates internationally, with activity focused on New Zealand, Australia and the United States.

Author-it positions its product as a Component Content Management System, or CCMS. The company said it has worked in structured content management for more than 25 years.

Brand update

The company described the work as a refresh rather than a full rebrand. It said the new identity reflects long-standing themes in its product approach, including content reuse, modularity and collaboration.

Author-it linked the decision to changes in customer requirements. It cited regulatory compliance and global scale as pressures that add complexity for organisations managing content across markets.

The company said it has updated its website with the refreshed look. It expects to roll out changes across its platform, knowledge centre and community sites over the coming months.

"Our brand refresh is about continuity and progress," said Adrian Winks, Chief Executive Officer, Author-it.

"We've spent over two decades helping organisations transform how they create, manage, and deliver content. This evolution honours that history while embracing the future - making sure our customers have the tools they need to scale with confidence," said Winks.

Product investment

Alongside the visual update, Author-it said it continues to invest in its platform. It referenced platform stability, enhanced security and product changes aimed at collaboration.

The company also pointed to recent and upcoming updates. It said it has delivered new Microsoft Word integration. It described this as an authoring and publishing change.

Author-it also listed upcoming cloud login enhancements. It said this will deliver a more secure and seamless experience for global teams.

Reuse and modularity

Author-it's brand message continues to centre on reuse and modularity. The company used the phrase "Write once, use everywhere." It said customers create modular content components and reuse them across documents, formats and languages.

It said this approach reduces duplication and errors. It also said it speeds up localisation and publishing cycles.

Collaboration focus

The company also highlighted collaboration features. It said teams can work together in real time and run review and approval processes in a single environment.

Author-it said these workflows link authors, subject matter experts and compliance teams. It described this as a way to keep teams working from the same source of truth.

Compliance demands

Author-it said its customers want systems that reduce risk, speed up workflows and deliver measurable ROI. It also positioned the CCMS as a way to manage accuracy and consistency across outputs such as technical documentation, training materials and multilingual content.

The company described accuracy as essential for organisations operating across markets and languages. It said its structured workflows aim for consistency across outputs.

Next developments

Author-it set out areas it expects to develop next. It said future work will include deeper AI-driven capabilities for smarter content reuse.

It also cited enhanced analytics for ROI tracking. It said it plans integrations and described interoperability as a focus.

Author-it said these developments will relate to regulatory changes and global scale. It also linked them to content experiences and trust.

The company said it remains committed to structured content management as industries evolve and requirements shift. It expects further updates to follow as it rolls out the brand refresh across its product and customer-facing sites.
