Axon CEO: Our competitors will sit up and take notice

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Scott Green has told The Channel that the Integral, Axon deal will deliver a lot of end value to customers.

It's just been announced that Integral Technology Group has acquired 100% of Axon Computer Systems. You can read the full announcement here. Axon CEO Scott Green told The Channel this morning that the deal is great news for all concerned.

“It’s something we’ve been working on for some time and I think it’s a great outcome for the business and Integral,” he said. “They have a very similar set of values and ideas about how they want to focus on customers and continue to grow the business.”

Green added that the move made by Integral is a better result than if the business was heading offshore. “This is a much better outcome than if the business was going offshore, so to speak. And we certainly know that the customers we’ve talked to so far understand the logic of it all.”

The aim is for the integration to be completed in the shortest possible timeframe. “The forward plans really rest with Dave [Integral’s Executive Chairman, David Sutherland],” continued Green. “From my point of view I’ll be exiting the business in a fairly short period of time. I’ll remain only in advisory capacity.

“The exciting thing from my point of view is that the service offerings of both businesses are very complementary and that combined, the proposition is a more powerful one than the two companies in isolation. There’s a lot of end value to customers to deliver, which will have a lot of our competitors sitting up and taking notice.”

Green said that he’s looking forward to taking a break over the next few months with his partner, three-year old and fishing rod. “I’ve already had a number of approaches both in New Zealand and overseas. I’m still a shareholder of the business and have got a positive outcome from that point of view as well. I’m looking forward to a bit of a break and then getting back into it,” he said.
