FYI, this story is more than a year old

In the unpredictable economic climate, more business and operations executives are looking to technology to help them meet the challenges of the market, says HP.

The company recently completed a global survey that found that more than 90% of senior decision makers thought that business cycles will continue to be unpredictable in the next few years. Nearly 75% said that technology is a fundamental enabler of their business’s success and eight out of ten thought that the market in the future will require more technology focused on market needs.

Innovation is a key differentiator and 71% of respondents said they would invest more in technology if they could see it was meeting time-to-market and business opportunity needs.

Rapid change was also key as 80% of respondents said that their business and technology approach must be more flexible to meet changing customer needs. In Asia Pacific, 49% of CIOs said that they are currently asked to make frequent rapid changes in technology to support the business.

Coleman Parkes Research Ltd. Conducted the survey, commissioned by HP by performing interviews with 150 business executives (CEOs and MDs) and 400 technology experts (CIOs and COOs).
