CA puts Cloud in a box
Tue, 31st May 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

CA Technologies and Digicor have today announced the launch of Cloud in a Box, a new product to allow businesses to deliver public, private or hybrid clouds in as little as four hours. Cloud in a Box is used in tandem with Digicor's hardware solutions to deliver IaaS, Paas and SaaS all in a single environment. Users can pull from a catalogue of reusable applications to rapidly compose, deploy and manage complex, online applications, thereby reducing time-to-market for new business services. "Cloud in a Box is a real breakthrough that significantly reduces the time, costs and risks often associated with moving to the cloud environment. By packaging a single cloud solution, we are making cloud accessible to the whole market – from SMB to enterprise," said Brenton Smith, ANZ vice president and general manager. The Cloud in a Box has been specifically designed to assist customers to deploy a complete cloud offering quickly. The joint offering includes training, education and consulting.

Key benefits specific to the Cloud in a Box include:

  • Licensing – Installed AppLogic perpetual licenses with pre-packaged AppLogic Appliances
  • Training – a three-day AppLogic operator course
  • Consulting – three day on site education consulting service along with onsite mentoring on how to create applications for customers
  • Hardware – 24 Cores of Intel Xeon processors with 96GB RAM with 4.8TB storage and CISCO switches
  • Rack & stack into your data center with 3 years onsite next business day response
  • Dedicated AppLogic server for customers
  • Applications ready to be deployed
The Cloud in a Box will be showcased this week at CeBIT Australia and available from Digicor nationally from 1 June.
