Capgemini tops testing rankings

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Just a few weeks after announcing its re-entry to the New Zealand market, international IT testing firm Capgemini has been awarded top spot in a ranking of 13 testing businesses.

The ratings, compiled by UK-based industry analysts Ovum, placed IBM and Wipro second equal, with HP, Infosys and Cognizant behind that in fourth equal.

Report author Alexander Simkin points out that the rankings were based on 20 criteria, and there was significant differentiation within those, so that no testing firm led every category.

"Capgemini, for example, excels in its test process capabilities,” Simkin says.

"IBM, in contrast, leads the market in its portfolio of test services and its expertise in testing. Wipro came out top for cost and value.”

Organisations need to consider their priorities before making their choice, Simkin concludes.

"Users of testing services need to know where providers are strong – and weak. Selecting a provider that does not meet your needs can have costly ongoing consequences.”
