Challenging time ahead for new Nokia boss

Mon, 15th Nov 2010
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Chris Carr takes the reins of General Manager of its Australian and New Zealand operations, effective January 1st, 2011.

Carr, formerly VP of sales in South East Asia Pacific, takes over from Emile Baak who has left the company after two and half years to return to Europe.

“It’s an exciting but challenging time ahead for Nokia both locally and globally,” said Carr. “We’ve got a lot of work to do but I’m confident we can continue to deliver solutions that people want, build on our footprint and strengthen mindshare, particularly at the high-end.”

Steve Lewis has also been named Head of Sales for Nokia Australia and New Zealand and Greg Clark assumes responsibility as Head of Retail for Australia and New Zealand.

Clark moves over to Australia from New Zealand where he was previously responsible for the Vodafone NZ account for Nokia.
