Christchurch bathroom firm claims Greentree prize

FYI, this story is more than a year old

A family business in Christchurch is looking forward to receiving a $250,000 IT boost, after being named the winner of Greentree’s Game On competition.

The promotion asked entrants to explain how their current IT systems were holding them back, and the ways they could benefit from more up to date software.

The winner, 50-year-old bathroom unit manufacturer and importer Smail & Co, likened its current system to a long-drop dunny in the era of the en-suite.

The business had experienced a surge in demand due to the earthquakes in the region, but had been unable to cope with the flurry of work.

With improved business systems, the company hopes to be able to provide a more efficient service for Christchurch homes and businesses, as well as break into the export market.

The prize will be implemented by Greentree partner Endeavour.
