Connector Systems lands LS Cable
Tue, 24th May 2011
FYI, this story is more than a year old

Connector Systems has signed a distribution agreement with Korean firm LS Cable to distribute its fibre cable and FTTx portfolio of products in New Zealand.

"We are very excited by the future potential of the combination of Connector Systems and LS Cable,” said Connector Systems’ managing director, Dale Smith.

The addition of LS Cable, to Connector Systems’ stable of vendors should strengthen its product offerings for FTTx products and solutions and further extend Connector Systems' reach into the wired and wireless market.

The partnership means Connector Systems can now offer end-to-end solutions, from ducting through fibre and active electronics. "This capability is something unique to the New Zealand market," said Smith.

Connector Systems will be specifically distributing the FTTx range of products in New Zealand which includes fibre optic cable and accessories in Layer 1 and Layer 2 for FTTx networking solutions.

"Korea has one of the largest penetrations of fibre optic cable in the world to homes, enterprises and government. It is this international technology that New Zealand needs to capitalise on as it rolls out and develops its own extensive fibre network” said David Yeo, LS Cable’s FTTx international sales manager.

LS Cables was established in 1962 and was a part of the well-known, global brand LG. In 2003 it separated from the LG Group and was renamed LS Cable.
