Console Connect unveils open-source LSO API adaptor on GitHub

Today

Console Connect has introduced an open-source solution designed to expedite the adoption of standards-based APIs among developers, specifically focusing on MEF's LSO Sonata APIs.

The recent launch of the Console Connect LSO API Adaptor marks a key development in aligning the ICT industry with common API frameworks aimed at delivering comprehensive business automation services. This initiative is now accessible via GitHub.

Research conducted by MEF has indicated that over 160 service providers globally are currently in various stages of adopting LSO Sonata. The newly introduced adaptor provides these service providers with the ability to transition rapidly to standards-based APIs, without the necessity for additional coding or risking existing workloads and integrations.

"API standardisation has the power to change the future of the ICT service provider industry and help developers access networks universally. APIs are part of our company DNA and this new solution demonstrates our commitment to helping developers within the service provider sector accelerate their API integrations and align with industry standards more quickly and efficiently," stated Paul Gampe, Chief Technology Officer at Console Connect.

Estimates from McKinsey and Company suggest that the network API market could see up to $300 billion in connectivity and edge computing-related revenue for service providers over the next five to seven years.

The type of network APIs offered by Console Connect facilitates the dynamic management of network resources. This enhances processes such as inventory management, quotations, and orders through the use of standardised API calls.

Through API integration with Console Connect, businesses can immediately access over 1,000 data centre locations worldwide, making use of private, high-performance infrastructure.

The MEF LSO Framework outlines the necessary interface reference points for LSO APIs to automate business processes between ecosystem partners and operational functions within and amongst network service providers.

Console Connect's standing as a fully MEF compliant Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) platform allows it to provide project management and technical support for API integrations. This is achieved through a two-phase approach that aims to mitigate risk, consisting of discovery and implementation phases.

In a bid to further support the adoption of LSO Sonata APIs for business support system and operations support system (BSS/OSS) automation, Console Connect is conducting a NaaS Pre-Accelerator programme, named Clear Shadow. This programme encourages participation from MEF members to contribute to the open-source project.
