CryptoLab & Niobium partner to enhance AI privacy & speed

Today

CryptoLab and Niobium have announced a strategic partnership with the aim of enhancing privacy and performance for artificial intelligence applications.

CryptoLab, known for its software in fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) and breakthroughs in encrypted large language models (LLM) and generative AI, will collaborate with Niobium, which provides FHE acceleration hardware. Niobium's first chip, part of an Early Access Programme, reportedly increases FHE processing speed significantly.

The key focus of this partnership is to integrate CryptoLab's encryption software with Niobium's hardware to develop real-time encrypted Generative AI, ensuring data privacy without compromising on speed or functionality. This approach keeps user data encrypted throughout processing, safeguarding user privacy to a high mathematical standard.

CryptoLab and Niobium have collectively raised over USD$20 million in venture capital investment, which will support their efforts in addressing the increasing demands for privacy and security in the AI sector.

CryptoLab's homomorphic encryption technology, specifically their advanced HEaaN CKKS technology, combined with Niobium's FHE hardware, is expected to significantly enhance the speed of encrypted AI operations, bringing them on par with unencrypted processes. The collaboration aims to eliminate the traditional balance between privacy and efficiency in AI technologies.

Both companies aim to leverage CryptoLab's expertise in post-quantum cryptography, providing enhanced security against future and current cyber threats, including those posed by quantum computing.

The partnership also aims at making these advanced technologies more accessible to a wider range of businesses, enabling practical applications across various sectors. This includes healthcare, where encrypted data analysis can take place in real-time, and financial modeling, where privacy standards can be improved significantly.

As part of the collaboration, CryptoLab and Niobium intend to set new global standards for privacy-preserving AI, positioning themselves as leaders in the field of private artificial intelligence.

Jung Hee Cheon, CEO of CryptoLab, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "This partnership represents a quantum leap for Private AI. By collaborating with Niobium, we're not just pushing the boundaries - we're redefining the very foundations of secure, privacy-first artificial intelligence."

Kevin Yoder, CEO of Niobium, added, "The synergy between our FHE acceleration technology and CryptoLab's advanced software paves the way for a new era of data utilisation. We're not only safeguarding privacy but also unlocking the full potential of data in a secure environment."
