CurricuLLM has released Galaxy, a new student learning interface on its AI tutoring platform, and launched in England with free access for teachers and pre-service teachers.
The update adds Oak National Academy content for schools following the English National Curriculum and introduces a visual model that maps learning goals as stars and constellations. Instead of starting with a blank chat window, students move through topics by demonstrating understanding in conversation.
Galaxy is designed to give pupils a clearer sense of where they are in the curriculum and what they should tackle next. Each learning goal appears as a star, related goals are grouped into constellations, and a depth meter tracks progress through four stages.
Progress does not move backwards, and students advance by explaining their thinking over time. Schools can switch individual Galaxy features on or off for a single student, a year group, or the whole school, including optional badges for effort and progress.

The Sydney-based education technology company is entering England with a free offer for teachers and trainee teachers, expanding beyond its existing school base in Australia and New Zealand. The rollout was supported by Oak National Academy's machine-readable curriculum graph, which reduced the time needed to structure curriculum data and test the platform for quality.

Within the platform, teachers in England can ask for a lesson, video, worksheet, or quiz during a conversation. When Oak already has a suitable lesson, CurricuLLM recommends that material before producing new content. Teachers can then ask for adaptations for different ability groups, shorter lesson slots, or English as an Additional Language needs.
The Oak lesson remains the foundation for those adaptations so that curriculum alignment is preserved. This reflects a broader approach in which existing teaching materials are incorporated into AI-assisted planning rather than replaced outright.
"Great teaching resources already exist," said Hart. "Bringing Oak National Academy content into CurricuLLM means a high-quality, subject-specialist-reviewed lesson is one sentence away, and it can be adapted to the class in front of you without losing its curriculum alignment."
Hart also pointed to the value of standardised digital curriculum information for developers working in education. He said trusted public curriculum data can shorten development time while improving the accuracy of tools built on top of it.
"Trusted, machine-readable curriculum data is public infrastructure," said Hart. "When it exists, the tools built on top of it get to market faster and arrive more accurate. Oak has made that case better than anyone."
CurricuLLM describes itself as a curriculum planning and tutoring platform built for schools. Its system benchmarks at 89 per cent accuracy on Australia and New Zealand curriculum content, compared with about 41 per cent for general-purpose frontier models.
The release reflects a wider debate in education technology over whether students learn effectively through open chat-based systems or need more guided structures. CurricuLLM's answer is to place the curriculum at the centre of the interface and make advancement depend on sustained explanation rather than quick completion.
For teachers, the England launch offers access to a system that combines tutoring and lesson preparation in one workflow. For students, the new interface turns subject content into a visible map, with each star lighting up only once understanding has been shown in conversation.
