FYI, this story is more than a year old

The company has appointed Phill Patton to head up its Auckland Enterprise Sales team.

"With the experience he brings, Phill is a massive addition to our team," says Mark Hardie, Director Sales and Product for Datacom.

"Our focus with bringing Phill into Datacom is ensuring we are building on our existing relationships with customers and connecting with new opportunities to help more companies realise their growth ambitions and find better ways to support their own people and their customers."

Patton, who has previously held roles as Country GM for Dell EMC and GM Sales for IBM New Zealand, says joining Datacom is an opportunity to work with "an iconic New Zealand IT company".

"Having worked with Datacom for over a decade, in my roles with other technology companies, I have watched them grow and secure an enviable place in the New Zealand technology landscape," Patton says.

"They are uniquely positioned to be able to offer a broad range of solutions to customers by drawing from the experience and IP of their internal teams and leveraging the strong relationships they have with the global vendors."

Patton's most recent role was as GM Cloud Service Providers for Dell Technologies. He is also the former Sales Director for SAP New Zealand and has 35 years experience in the tech sector, including local and international roles.

The role will be based in Auckland, and Patton says he is joining a strong existing team and wants to build on their approach to make even more of a difference for Datacom's customers.

"I am looking forward to working with the Datacom team and helping customers move their business and IT agenda forward through innovation and an ability to deliver on the promises made," Patton adds.
