Kiwi IT services provider Datacom has completed a ‘satisfactory’ trading year, with increases in both revenue and trading profit.

According to a release from the company, revenues for the year ended March 2011 were $725 million, an increase of 8.7% from the previous year’s $667 million.

Trading profit before tax and impairment charges increased by 7.8%, from $42.1 million to $45.4 million.

However, this figure was impacted by costs of $6.5 million – most of which related to the closure of Datacom’s Sydney-based software development business – meaning net profit before tax was $38.9 million, representing a fall of 7.6%.

Revenue from overseas operations was $380 million, slightly ahead of New Zealand’s $345 million. Staff numbers currently total 3371, including 1864 in New Zealand, 938 in Australia and 569 in Asia.
