FYI, this story is more than a year old

Datacom has shown its support for Microsoft's Imagine Cup competition by offering a scholarship award to the New Zealand winner.

The scholarship award is open to all students who are members of the Top 20 teams in the 2011 Microsoft NZ Imagine Cup.

The winner will have the choice of a paid six month internship or a three month holiday internship and three months mentoring in Datacom's Microsoft Enterprise & Mid-Market Solutions team.

The Auckland-based Microsoft Enterprise & Mid-Market Solutions team is part of the Datacom Auckland Software and Integration Division, and delivers solutions using Microsoft technologies such as SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, BizTalk and .NET says Datacom.

The division provides solutions for New Zealand brands such as ASB, TOWER and Auckland Airport, across sectors including insurance, finance, FMCG, building and agriculture.

Vernon Kay, Director of the Auckland Software and Integration Division, said, "The lucky winner is going to be part of an exciting team working with Microsoft technologies. From day one they'll be working with our talented staff and our customers who want us to make a significant difference to their business. They will be heavily involved in designing, building and delivering solutions. This is a chance to spend time in a leading company and work on real projects"  and get paid doing it."

Applicants will be able to download the application form from Datacom after the Imagine Cup finals ceremony on April 12th.

We'll let you know when applications go live on Datacom's website.
