Dell & Red Hat boost APEX Cloud's AI capabilities in new alliance

Wed, 8th May 2024

Dell Technologies and Red Hat have announced a strategic alliance aimed at bolstering the capabilities of the APEX Cloud Platform for Red Hat OpenShift AI. Jointly engineered with Red Hat, this collaboration will facilitate customers to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives more effectively.

The reinvigorated APEX Cloud Platform is particularly noteworthy for how it changes the way organisations deploy, manage, and run containers, along with virtual machines, on-premises. This enables a more streamlined, efficient approach to AI project deployment, taking into account variable storage requirements. The APEX Cloud Platform supports Dell PowerFlex and Dell ObjectScale storage systems, thus accommodating every AI workload irrespective of its magnitude.

The collaboration also brings to the marketplace a new solution that employs AI to achieve automated speech recognition (ASR) and text-to-speech (TTS) capabilities. Implementing this integration allows users to simplify the deployment of Natural Language Processing (NLP) solutions, opening up new avenues of potential. The fusion of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques with organisation-specific data can enhance the relevance and impact of AI Avatars, chatbots, and other applications.

"The rise of artificial intelligence has led customers to seek out hybrid cloud infrastructure that accelerates AI application development and delivers faster time to value," noted Stefanie Chiras, senior vice president of Partner Ecosystem Success, Red Hat. "Innovation is at the heart of our continued collaboration with Dell and the updates announced today showcase why Dell APEX Cloud Platform for Red Hat OpenShift can empower organisations with a more consistent, reliable integrated and automated platform for running Red Hat OpenShift AI on-premises."

The APEX Cloud Platform impresses with its added support for hosted control planes for Red Hat OpenShift. This aids in reducing management costs, optimises cluster deployment time, and separates management and workload concerns, allowing customers to concentrate on their applications. The platform also introduces the NVIDIA L40S GPU to support even the most demanding AI applications.

In addition, the partnership has expedited the deployment of a digital assistant, capitalising on the potential of Red Hat OpenShift AI on the APEX Cloud Platform. By augmenting the Large Language Model (LLM) with your company's data, you can keep your AI system current and relevant. This advance signals a commitment to enabling customers to exploit the latest technological progressions as both capabilities and the AI ecosystem mature.

Customers are assured of comprehensive assistance, from strategic consultations to seamless implementation, throughout the AI deployment process. Dell's proficient services are designed to augment the value derived from the Red Hat OpenShift AI platform and to ensure maximised ROI now and into the future.
