Sat, 17th Aug 2024

Dell has launched two new accessories, the Silent Keyboard and Mouse Combo (KM555) and the Dell Wired Collaboration Keyboard (KB525C). Both products aim to enhance user productivity and ease of collaboration in office environments.

The Silent Keyboard and Mouse Combo (KM555) is designed to reduce noise generated by typing and mouse operations. The keyboard features silent keys, while the mouse is equipped with silent clicking, scrolling, and gliding functionalities. This is intended to provide a quieter working environment, reducing distractions for users.

This combo includes a dedicated Copilot key, offering quick access to Copilot in Windows. Dell claims this feature will simplify tasks and enhance collaboration through AI-enhanced multitasking. The keyboard is a compact, space-saving model that includes a numpad and full-size arrow keys. According to Dell, this design aims to reduce shoulder movement and increase comfort during extended periods of use.

The KM555 provides dual-mode RF 2.4GHz and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, allowing for flexible device connections. Users can also personalise their setup with 18 tailored keyboard shortcuts and a programmable scroll wheel button on the mouse. The keyboard and mouse in the combo offer 36 months of battery life, and the devices are engineered with up to 64% post-consumer recycled plastic, highlighting Dell's focus on eco-conscious product design. The mouse also offers adjustable DPI settings up to 4020 for precise control.

The Dell Wired Collaboration Keyboard (KB525C) is promoted as the world's first wired collaboration keyboard. It targets professionals who frequently use collaboration tools like Zoom and Microsoft Teams. The keyboard offers versatile connectivity through Type-C and USB-A connectors, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices.

The KB525C also features smart keys, which include a dedicated Copilot key for quick access to Copilot in Windows and built-in collaboration keys. These keys allow users to mute and unmute microphones, toggle video, share screens, and access chat panels effortlessly during conference calls.

For customisation, the keyboard includes 15 programmable shortcut keys that provide quick access to frequently used functions and applications. Similar to the KM555, the KB525C boasts a quiet operation with a full-size keyboard and low-profile design for a comfortable typing experience. It is engineered with 65% post-consumer recycled plastic, aligning with Dell's sustainability initiatives.

These new products from Dell aim to enhance productivity and collaboration in office settings while also focusing on reducing environmental impact through the use of recycled materials. The Silent Keyboard and Mouse Combo (KM555) and the Wired Collaboration Keyboard (KB525C) are now available for purchase.
